End Silence & Stigma – Baby Loss & Perinatal Mental Health Course

Baby Loss & Perinatal Mental Health Awareness course for health care professionals, and those who support families. November 3rd & 4th, Canvey Island, Essex.

Ourselves here at Lotus Petal Family Support have teamed up with ‘From My Womb To My Heart‘ to create a two day course focusing on Baby Loss & Perinatal Mental Health. Here are some details about what the course is about and our aims – if you’re interested in attending please visit www.facebook.com/AwarenessTeachingDays

The purpose of this course is to firstly, break the silence. Both these topics, individually are notorious for not beingIMG_0021 discussed in any open forums, both within society as a whole but more importantly within the professional enviorment where babyloss as well as mental health are not primary.

We want to create an intimate class room environment, where the students of the course can develop a deeper understanding. This is from first hand and living experiences within these areas, professional lpfs-logoinsight about useful resources, sign posting and essential care and compassion, that is a must for a positive healing process and journey.

Over the course of two days, influential and informative speakers will be coming together to share experiences and knowledge into maternity bereavement, mental health and pregnancies after the death of a baby at any gestation.

With this essential information, a caregiver is set on the path to be able to gain a deeper insight to what is the taboo of baby loss and mental health.

Both days will touch upon pregnancies after the death of a baby, with the option to take one or both days, this course offers 6 – 12 hours of continuous professional development which contributes to professional re-validation.

1 in 4 pregnancies end in baby loss
1 in 7 Mums will experience some form of perinatal mental illness
1 in 10 Dads will struggle with perinatal mental illness

Parents are not alone, and our healing journey begins and continues with our caregivers
